Fava bean processed by Nordic Soya having good performance in broiler production
HKScan to replace soymeal with domestic protein in Kariniemen® chain.
Several broiler grow-out trials have been run during the last six months by the meat processor HKScan Oyj in Finland. The trial results show that fava bean meal can replace soybean meal completely. Thanks to this innovation, HKScan Kariniemen® chicken farms will be the first in Finland to entirely replace soy-based protein with domestic pulses such as fava beans in animal feed.
