This includes ProTerra Certification, Europe Soya/Donau Soya certification, FoodChain ID Non-GMO certification, and membership in the RTRS Association, promoting responsible soy production.
We also adhere to the ISCC EU system for sustainable sourcing and deforestation prevention. Notably, we are proud to have received the Bronze Medal in our first EcoVadis CSR assessment, placing us among the top 11% of feed industry performers. This recognition underscores our holistic approach to corporate responsibility, encompassing environmental stewardship, ethical practices, and social impact.
We hold a valid environmental permit covering our production facility in Uusikaupunki, Finland. This permit ensures that our operations comply with environmental legislation and support sustainable development.
In August 2023, Nordic Soya Oy received an updated environmental permit from the Regional State Administrative Agency of Southern Finland. The permit allows the introduction of a new pressing unit and the use of additional oil and protein alongside soybeans. The changes enable more flexible production and support the use of domestic raw materials.
The updated permit includes stricter emission limits for hexane and ethanol, enhanced monitoring requirements, and provisions for odor and noise control. The environmental impacts of the changes are assessed to be minor.
